Summer in Buena Park: Essential Packing List

Your upcoming trip to Buena Park is just around the corner and you haven’t begun packing the essentials you’ll need. If you’re not sure what to bring with you to SoCal’s Fun City, we’ve got you covered with what to pack and where you’ll need to use them. Let’s get started!
Silver Bullet at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA
Be sure to bring your best walking shoes for your visit to Ralph B. Clark Regional Park, where there are 3 hiking trails to choose from that vary in length. Hiking difficulty ranges from easy to moderate, with the Castlewood Trail, Westridge Chevron Hills Trail, and the Ralph B. Clark Perimeter Trail. Those comfortable shoes will also come in handy as you make your way through Knott’s Berry Farm, where you’ll be exploring 160 acres to get from coaster to coaster. Another great item to pack for your lengthy theme park day is an empty reusable water bottle as there is a water filling station in the park near the Wheeler Dealer Bumper Cars. We also recommend purchasing your discount tickets and Fast Lane passes in advance so you’ll have those packed and ready to go ahead of time for your visit. Once you’re on Knott’s property, you’ll need that sunscreen and swimsuit you brought as you soak up the sun at Soak City, a water park filled with 23 waterslides, a 750,000 gallon wave pool, and one of SoCal’s Fun City.
Shopping at Buena Park Farmer's Market

A trendy tote or spacious bag is perfect for a visit to the Buena Park Farmers Market. They offer everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to flowers and handmade goods. It’s best to arrive early to get your pick from the best produce and food options. If you’ve traveled to Buena Park from a distance accessible by car, a couple of camping chairs are ideal for the annual Movies Under the Stars series at Boisseranc Park. Those who arrived in SoCal’s Fun City by plane can still participate in the free event with a comfy blanket to sprawl out on.

Cool and breathable clothing is a must for summertime in Buena Park, especially if you’ll be spending time at outdoor attractions like The Source OC. This 3-story outdoor mall is filled with over 60 eateries, entertainment and retail options with a large focus on Korean street eats. After some retail therapy, no summer vacation can be complete with a little lounge time. Grab those sunglasses and spend the afternoon poolside at one of our many hotel offerings.

BONUS: If you’ll be attending any of our iconic dinner shows, from Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament to Pirates Dinner Adventure or Beach Boulevard Club - don’t forget to bring your camera so you can get great shots of the show and photos with the performers!
