Day 1

Once you’ve arrived, drop your bags off at one of Buena Park’s many comfortable hotels. Courtyard Marriott, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hampton Inn, and Fairfield Inn offer “suite” deals of discounted rates for U.S. Military. After getting settled, revel in dinner and a show by visiting Medieval Times, an immersive dining experience filled with brave nights on horseback and epic swordfights. Tickets purchased at participating military bases include a free Royalty upgrade, which includes priority access, VIP seating, and other freebies. Booking online also gains you access to discounted tickets – it’s as simple as providing an active U.S. Military ID. If you’re a fan of the open seas, attend Pirates Dinner Adventure, another interactive dinner show with special effects, aerial artistry, and death-defying stunts. Day 2

To start your day, grab a proper breakfast at Paul's Place or IHOP. Hot cakes, eggs any style, bacon, sausage, French toast, and more can be enjoyed at a discounted rate. U.S. Military with active ID receive 10% off at both breakfast locations.

After you’ve loaded up on carbs, it’s time to burn them off by walking through the gates of California’s First Theme Park, Knott’s Berry Farm. With 160 acres of themed areas, coasters, kid-friendly attractions, and restaurants, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. On select days throughout November and December, Knott’s offers discounted tickets at a rate of $19.99 each for all active and veteran U.S. Military, and up to 5 additional guests. Before heading off property, be sure to visit Knott’s Independence Hall, an exact brick-by-brick replica of the original in Philadelphia. Admission to this facility is free and open from 10am to 4pm daily, except Christmas.

After a day of thrills, relax with a warm bowl of soup from SUP Noodle Bar. Try their light and flavorful pho, Lomo Saltado with premium cuts of filet mignon, or their shaken fries topped with cheese, onions, short rib, and their signature sauce. Day 3

After resting your feet from a long park day, start the morning with breakfast at Black Bear Diner. Comfort foods like thick cut bacon, sweet cream pancakes, steak and eggs, cinnamon roll French toast, and so much more are waiting for you to order them. With an active U.S. Military ID, a 10% discount is offered off any meal.

Afterwards, hop on over to Downtown Buena Park and visit Big Air Buena Park. Here you can defy gravity, jump off the walls, test your climbing skills, flip into foam cubes, and so much more. Feel the power of a rocket launch, try and score against a hockey goalie, explore a two-story dinosaur, or experience one of their rotating exhibits. If you’re looking for a slower paced day, head to Heroes Hall at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, a free museum that celebrates veterans in the area through curated exhibits, performances, and educational programs. Another great option is to visit Orange County’s largest museum, Bower’s, which celebrates the various cultures that call Southern California home, where veterans can enter for free on Veteran’s Day.

On your way back to Buena Park, don’t forget to stop for some grub. Rock & Brews offers classic American comfort food in a Rock & Roll setting. You’ll find a lineup of delicious pub eats, including signature wings and over 60 craft beers. A 10% active U.S. Military discount is offered year round at this rockin' restaurant and veterans eat for free off a select menu on Veteran's Day. If the kids still need to get some energy out, visit John’s Incredible Pizza, an entertainment center with amusement rides, video and ticket-dispensing games, as well as a buffet. Day 4

If you've woken up in Buena Park on Veteran’s Day morning, visit Porto’s Bakery & Café, named Best of the Southland by the L.A. Times. A complimentary box of pastries is offered to active and veteran U.S. Military on Veteran’s Day. Another great breakfast option is Paul’s Place, a local diner with all the American classics. Active U.S. Military receive 10% off their food.

After breakfast, venture out of Buena Park one last time and visit the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, just 5 miles away. Park hopper tickets are available at a discounted rate. If your visit happens to fall on November 10, 2023, the Anaheim Ducks are hosting a Military Appreciation Night where special U.S. Military recognitions will be made.
