Touchdown in Buena Park: Your NFL Weekend Itinerary

Football season is back, and a game in SoCal is the perfect excuse to turn kickoff into a full Buena Park getaway. Catch the Los Angeles Rams or Los Angeles Chargers at nearby SoFi Stadium, or check out a game or event at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium, then spend the rest of your trip exploring Buena Park’s theme park, award-winning dining, entertainment, and Koreatown. Located just 5 miles from Disneyland and 15 miles from Huntington Beach, Buena Park also makes it easy to add more SoCal fun to your football weekend.

Day 1: Arrive & Get Into Game-Day Mode: Start by checking into one of Buena Park’s over a dozen comfortable and affordable hotels. Many offer perks like rooftop pool, free hot breakfast, spacious suites, complimentary shuttle service to theme parks including Knott’s Berry Farm and Disneyland. Once you’re settled in, get your adrenaline going at Knott’s Berry Farm, where thrill seekers can take on coasters and rides before settling into the rest of the weekend. Recently reopened, the reimagined MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress launches riders from 0 to 55 mph in just four seconds. While you’re there, taste a little Buena Park history with boysenberry treats throughout the park, including boysenberry pie, cream soda, and a boysenberry margarita flight. After all, Buena Park is the birthplace of the boysenberry. After the thrills, keep the energy going at Rock & Brews, where American comfort food, a rock-and-roll atmosphere, and more than 40 beers on tap set the stage for a lively evening.

Day 2: Game Day: Start the morning with a hearty breakfast before heading out for the main event. Grab a Cuban-inspired breakfast and fan-favorite potato balls and cheese rolls at Porto’s Bakery, or dig into big “Bear” portions of classic American fare at Black Bear Diner. Then, it’s time for kickoff. Catch the Rams or Chargers at SoFi Stadium, home to two of Los Angeles’ NFL teams. Another nearby option is Rose Bowl Stadium, a legendary Southern California venue that hosts football and other major events. After the final whistle, head back to Buena Park and keep the night going. Located in the city’s Koreatown, INS Ice Beer is a Korean pub that stays open late. Enjoy frosty beers chilled through 48-hour low-temperature ripening, along with Korean fried chicken, pancakes, and small bites.

Day 3: Explore More of Buena Park: There’s more to Buena Park than game day. Spend your final day exploring the city’s 2.5-mile Koreatown, home to more than 90 Korean restaurants serving everything from Korean BBQ to late-night favorites. For dinner and entertainment, choose from three dinner shows. Keep the competitive spirit going at HAX Indoor Batting Cages, where you can step up to the plate, or head to Beom Golf for golf simulator fun. Just 5 miles from Buena Park, K1 Speed offers high-speed electric go-kart racing, while Flightdeck puts you in the cockpit with immersive fighter jet and commercial airliner flight simulators. For a change of pace, head to Huntington Beach, just 15 miles away, for surfing, checking out the pier, or grabbing a drink by the water.

Football + SoCal Getaway = Touchdown: From NFL action and thrill rides to Korean food, dinner shows, and late-night spots, there’s plenty to explore before and after kickoff.
