An Insider’s Guide to Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry Farm

When most people think of theme parks, they imagine towering roller coasters and adrenaline-pumping rides but nestled in the lively City of Buena Park, lies an attraction that offers something more whimsical— Knott’s Berry Farm. California’s first theme park, delivers high-speed thrills for adrenaline seekers, while also offering something special for every guest, especially families with younger children. That hidden gem is Camp Snoopy. Inspired by the scenic California High Sierras, Camp Snoopy invites young campers—and their families—to become full-fledged Beagle Scouts as they explore new rides, interactive character experiences, and live entertainment. It’s the perfect way to introduce little ones to the joy of theme parks. Recommended for kids as young as 2 years old and those who are simply young at heart—Camp Snoopy brings the magic of childhood to life in every corner.

Attractions Made for Kids
With 11 unique rides, this Peanuts-themed playground delivers just the right amount of thrills for every age and bravery level, from gentle scenic rides to mini coasters.

Level 1: Low Thrill rides, perfect for the park’s youngest visitors. At Beagle Scout Headquarters, little explorers can hop into the driver’s seat on Camp Snoopy Off-Road Rally. This ride puts kids in control of a PEANUTS-themed four-wheeler as they cruise a forest trail dotted with fun checkpoints. Each car seats two, so adults can join the ride—or let their kids take the wheel. Another gentle favorite is the Beagle Express Railroad , a scenic ride that meanders through the woodsy charm of Camp Snoopy. Parents are welcome to hop aboard for a laid-back tour alongside their little ones.

Level 2: Mild Thrill rides offer more excitement while keeping it family-friendly. The Flying Ace lets aspiring pilots soar in a bright red biplane, while Rapid River Run has young adventurers paddling their way through a winding waterway, reaching up to 21 feet in height—perfect for brave kids and their ride-along parents. At Pigpen’s Mud Buggies , little ones bump, bounce, and spin down a pretend muddy path in all-terrain vehicles made just for them (with room for adults, too). Sally’s Swing Along brings the whole family together with a giant bench swing that glides up to 10 feet into the air. And for a flying experience like no other, Linus Launcher allows kids and parents to lie side by side as they “fly” face-down in gentle circles. Nearby, Balloon Race offers a sky-high view of the High Sierra Mountains in a whimsical hot air balloon-themed ride.

Level 3: Moderate Thrill rides include Charlie Brown’s Kite Flyer , which takes guests high above the trees for a breezy, swaying flight that captures the magic of flying a kite on a windy day.

Level 4: High Thrill attractions await. The Sierra Sidewinder spins and speeds along the track at 37 mph, offering a coaster experience that both kids and adults can enjoy together—plus, it’s Fast Lane eligible for reduced wait times. Then there’s Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster, a perfect first roller coaster for young thrill-seekers. This family-friendly coaster features a lift hill, a mini launch, and a twisting forest journey led by Beagle Scout Leader Snoopy himself.

Snoopy’s Play Zone
If the little ones aren’t quite ready for rides, there’s still plenty of fun at Camp Snoopy. Kids can try their luck at a variety of pay-to-play carnival games like Woodstock’s Birdbath, where matching two numbers wins a prize every time. Snoopy’s Balloon Burst is another favorite, offering a guaranteed win and a chance to take home your very own Snoopy plush. For an extra dose of fun, face painting and character portraits are available, perfect for capturing a colorful memory. Don’t forget to snap a family photo behind the waterfall, with Camp Snoopy’s charming backdrop setting the scene.

Peanuts Characters and Live Acts
Of course, the fun doesn’t stop with rides. Throughout Camp Snoopy, families can meet beloved characters like Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Pigpen, Sally, Franklin, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder, and Marcie for hugs, high-fives, and unforgettable photos. During special events like Knott’s Spooky Farm in the fall or Knott’s Merry Farm in winter, the PEANUTS crew dresses up in seasonal costumes, bringing even more joy and charm to each visit. Knott’s Merry Farm invites guests to celebrate the holiday season with live entertainment, a Christmas Crafts Fair, and, of course, a visit from Santa! One of the highlights during this festive time is “Snoopy’s Night Before Christmas,” a delightful ice show featuring Snoopy and the PEANUTS gang held in the Walter Knott Theater. This popular performance combines classic Christmas tunes, talented ice skaters, and everyone’s favorite characters, creating a heartwarming experience for the whole family. Beyond the holiday events, there’s plenty of entertainment throughout the park year-round. At the Wagon Camp stage, you can enjoy live music from the lively and entertaining Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies. Meanwhile, at the Indian Trails Stage, guests can experience a powerful Native American Dance presentation, filled with amazing movement, mesmerizing stories, and fascinating culture and history, offering a meaningful glimpse into Native American traditions.

Tasty Treats and Classic Comfort Food
After a few rides, there’s a good chance your group will be ready for some refueling. Grizzly Creek Lodge, the main dining spot in Camp Snoopy, offers all the family favorites—juicy cheeseburgers, crispy chicken tenders, fries, and fresh salads. It’s a relaxed spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it easy to cool off and enjoy a family meal together. Just outside, you’ll find a shaded picnic area with umbrellas—perfect for soaking up the sunshine while the kids snack and recharge. Right next to the picnic area is the Camp Snoopy stage, where beloved Peanuts characters make surprise appearances throughout the day. As you continue exploring, don’t miss Cave Inn Snacks , where you’ll find theme park essentials like buttery popcorn served in a collectible Woodstock bucket (a perfect take-home souvenir), crunchy churros, soft-serve ice cream, and refreshing boysenberry ICEEs.
