The Spell That Started It All
The Cauldron was created by Lara Hanneman, a former Director of Entertainment Production at Knott’s Berry Farm, where she helped design experiences for everything from Camp Snoopy to the mazes at Knott’s Scary Farm. After leaving Knott’s, Hanneman spent a year collecting antiques and eclectic furniture to bring her vision to life. The Cauldron opened in January 2018, transforming her love of French cuisine, craft drinks, and theatrical design into an immersive dining experience.

Bewitching Bites & Magical Sips
The Cauldron’s menu features French-inspired comfort food alongside creative cocktails. Favorites include the Chateaubriand Tartare, topped with a quail egg and served with crostini, Cauldron Sliders made with slow-roasted beef and melted cheese, and French meatballs served in a mushroom sherry cream sauce. Try cocktails like The Raven’s Claw, Devil’s Margarita, or Hive Mind, many of which feature theatrical touches like smoke and unexpected ingredients. The Knotty Kid is a standout, made with vodka and lemon juice and topped with cotton candy. Inspired by Buena Park’s boysenberry roots, it’s poured tableside as the cotton candy melts into the drink. For a non-alcoholic option, the Cat’s Claw combines cranberry juice, soda, and lemon.

Psst... There’s a Secret Room
If you’ve ever felt a breeze behind the bookshelf, you’re not imagining things. One of The Cauldron’s most charming and mysterious features is a hidden room concealed behind a cleverly disguised bookcase. Slide it open to reveal a cozy, private space, perfect for small gatherings or feeling like you’ve stepped into a secret society. The hidden room is available for rental, perfect for private events or intimate group experiences.
