Buena Park's Most Exciting New Restaurants of 2020

With 2020 being a year unlike any other, it certainly is a feat that so many new restaurants opened in Buena Park this year. From contemporary Korean cuisine to out-of-this-world egg sandwiches, Buena Park has them all. Put these new spots on your must-try list!

Mochinut donuts at Mochinut in Buena Park, CA

Mochinut

More than just a donut, Mochinut came on the scene to offer a tasty treat that's a combination of an American donut and Japanese mochi. Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, you'll find flavors like ube, mango, matcha, and black sesame just to name a few.

Misoolkwan OC

With so many delicious options to choose from at Misoolkwan, where do you start? We suggest going for the soy sauce-marinated shrimp and salmon with the meat and kimchi pancake. Bring a friend as it's plenty to share.

Egg sandwich with cheese and sauce at Eggslice in Buena Park, CA

Eggslice

Named one of the "19 Best Spots for Breakfast in Orange County" by Locale Magazine, you'll definitely want to put Eggslice on your list. Located in Grange Hall, this spot offers classic egg sandwiches topped with house-made Chilli Jam on a local artisan brioche bun. Or, go for the smoked salmon and egg sandwich that comes with the house-made fresh chopped dill and Dijon mustard sauce.

Hansang

Head to The Source to try out the Korean food of Hansang. The Bulgogi in Hot Pot is a diner favorite and you can't go wrong ordering the Kimchi Stew.

Egg on top of rice at Chubbee Monkee in Buena Park, CA

California Pita Grill

Fresh-made Mediterrean food is on the menu with the traditional gyros plate topping the list at California Pita Grill. Marinated flame-broiled beef and lamb are thinly sliced and served with rice, salad, and tzatziki sauce. The shish kebab is another favorite and it is served with hummus.

Chubbee Monkee

Fans of this cult-favorite food truck were thrilled when Chubbee Monkee opened a brick and mortar shop in Grange Hall in 2020. Now you can get the smoked brisket fried rice whenever you want. The GH39 shrimp are not to be missed, as are the oh-so-crispy Monkee wings.

Steak and wine at Il Palco in Buena Park, CA

Prime and Beyond California

Carnivores, this is the spot for you! Prime and Beyond offers premium steak with cuts like filet mignon, boneless NY strip, boneless ribeye, skirt steak, and more. Bring some friends to try the massive Steak Platter with butcher's choice steak assortment and sausages. Kimchi fried rice, brussel sprouts and grilled asparagus are among the side dishes offered.

Magal Street

This Korean BBQ offers all your favorites and we suggest going for the Magal Signature Combo to try them all. You'll get prime beef boneless short ribs, marinated prime short ribs, paper-thin sliced prime brisket and more.

Tuna Sushi at Jaws TPK in Buena Park, CA

Gaucho Grill

You'll find a contemporary twist on Argentinian favorites at Gaucho Grill. Start with a few empanadas to share and then go for the Asada Especial—slowly braised short rib with gaucho steak marinade. Feeling like pasta? The Sorrentinos—large ravioli filled with mozzarella, ricotta, ham and walnuts—are not to be missed.

Jaws TPK

Authentic Korean food is the name of the game at Jaws TPK where spicy Topokki is the star. You'll find a number of choices for gimbap (the Korean version of sushi) with ingredients like fresh-grilled bulgogi, fried shrimp, and spicy pork available. Add on the Jaws Korean Sausage and you'll be set!

Coming in 2021 to Buena Park:

Eggs Benedict and fruit at Broken Yolk in Buena Park, CA

Broken Yolk

Named one of "America’s Top 50 Emerging Restaurant Chains" by FSR Magazine, we can't wait for Broken Yolk to make its Buena Park debut. You can expect both sweet and savory options like the Tiki Toast (three slices of Hawaiian bread that are grilled and topped with berries, coconut, and caramel) and the Caprese Benedict (English muffins topped with arugula, mozzarella, poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce and a pesto drizzle).

Burger Monster

Burger aficionados will be thrilled to hear that Buena Park is getting its own Burger Monster shop in 2021 so you can enjoy all the scary delicious, hand-made burgers on the regular. If spicy is your jam, go for the Dracula—a ⅓ lb. Angus chuck beef patty topped with pepper jack cheese, roasted garlic-jalapeno sauce, chipotle ketchup, and veggies. Vegetarians love the Creature from the Black Lagoon—a marinated portabella mushroom that's topped with avocado, arugula, caramelized onions, and roasted garlic-herb sauce.
